This world is coming to an end Buildings burning down while the man is sipping Crown Whiskey in his cocaine mansion That he owns from the workers that work into the ground Sister and brothers we've gotta fight what's at stake is our own rights time for change we can’t do this alone we've gotta unite, take those reforms and shut ‘em down Do you wanna see your children cry All alone, every sleepless night While you’re working three jobs just to get along While the rich man relishes in his Fancy cars and shiny things Change is here time is now So what if people smoke the reefer Our government's suppose to be our peace keeper Instead he sits back while the middle class goes in war Fighting to live another day, while corps are taking more time for change we can’t do this alone we've gotta unite, take those reforms and shut ‘em down Do you wanna see your children cry All alone, every sleepless night While you’re working three jobs just to get along While the rich man relishes in his Fancy cars and shiny things Change is here time is now Be the change you wanna see Time once again to live freely Do you wanna see your children cry All alone, every sleepless night While you’re working three jobs just to get along While the rich man relishes in his Fancy cars and shiny things Change is here time is now© AllyshaJaye 2013 Unfortunately I was unable to format the lyrics into the style I wanted them to be viewed. I will update once I know how to :) Stay tuned for my next recording... Peace and love, AllyshaJaye

New Project, 2013.
Change is here!!
Greetings!
I am very excited to announce that with the new year I began a new music project. I am continuing to work with Cherelle Jardine in our fantastic mother-daughter duo "The Jardines" (check us out at www.thejardinesband.com), however I have began a new solo collection of work under my full name AllyshaJaye.
In any craft, I truly believe the process and journey from A to B is more interesting than simply the final product. Please feel free to follow me on sound cloud and join me on my journey in discovering the art of self-recording and engineering with Protools. The first demo on my page is titled "change is here". There will be more versions of it as I improve my recording and mixing skills.
I have since uploaded 2 versions of my first demo "Change is here" on my soundcloud account:
www.soundcloud.com/allyshajaye
I also created a youtube video with the song:

Please like, comment, subscribe and share. I believe strongly in this song and I hope it makes a connection with you in some way or another. For every song I create I will post the lyrics on this blog. I wrote this song in support of the Idle no more movement that is swiftly traveling across Canada and the world.

Back to School
On this rainy day, reality starts to sink back into my mind. Summer is practically over and I've done a lot of growing up this summer. Looking back on these past four months it seems like I’ve become a different person for the better. I’ve become more emotionally, physically and spiritually stronger and am looking forward to the next chapter of my life: my 20’s. I don’t know what’s to come but I’m definitely ready to face whatever opportunities come my way.
think, write, sing. Continue chasing after you dream. Those who matter most will be with you every step of the way.

Who's stoked? I am!
Okay. Update on EP project:
One song is 98% percent finished. One thing I've found with recording is that you can always find something to change but so far I'm happy how my first song has come together. As for the other four/five songs are completed in regards to ghost tracks. I'm so excited to start working on the other songs. I can't wait to start getting feedback from people about what I'm doing... not that I care about what people think because I'm doing what I want with my music, but it's always a good thing to get opinions from people I want listening to my music.
Anyways, thought I'd make a small blurb on this blog... I've definitely been neglecting it for a while.
Updated Gigs for The Jardines:
July 28 - The Yale. We're playing with an awesome lineup for a benefit concert for Karl Watt, who passed away very recently from Lou Gehrigs disease.
We have a few more gigs coming up in August and September, will keep an update!
Check out the Facebook page for our July 28 gig. Get your tickets today :)

Music project well underway
So I have two tracks laid down with pre-production ideas and structure. I'm really looking forward to working on the other 2, possible 3, tracks that will be on my upcoming EP project that is being recorded at the Soundlounge Studio in Vancouver. Unfortunately, yesterday I earned myself a lovely concussion which was great fun (not really!). After this weekend though, it's back in Studio B for me to continue working on the two songs before fine tuning them in Studio A. Like I mentioned before, I will be producing, writing and mixing the songs myself with the help of Kirk Douglas who will be engineering and playing bass on the tracks. He will be training me how to mix and engineer tracks so I can someday, in the near future, work solo on sessions that come into the studio! It's an amazing opportunity and I'm really looking forward to learning more about both engineering and producing.
